Exploration Drilling for Uranium in the Scholle Area, Torrance County, New Mexico December 1957
MetadataShow full item record
Uranium and copper minerals occur in a conglomerate and sandstone zone in the Permian Abo Formation which outcrops on the east side of Priest Canyon north of Scholle, Torrance County, New Mexico. A drilling program was carried out to evaluate the uranium potential of the area. The results of the drilling indicate that scattered and weak uranium and copper mineralization, associated with carbonaceous plant material, occurs in a broad, meandering paleostream channel.
