Exploration Drilling in the Ladron Peak Area, Socorro County, New Mexico December 1957
MetadataShow full item record
Uranium deposits at the Jeter mine in the Ladron Peak area, Socorro County, New Mexico are associated with a low angle contact fault zone between Precambrian granite and overlying Tertiary sedimentary and volcanic rocks. A drilling project was carried out to evaluate the favorability of the fault zone for additional uranium deposits. The results of the drilling indicate that the ore bodies are surrounded by halos of low uranium content and that additional deposits may be found in the area.
