Preliminary Leaching Tests for the Extraction of Uranium from Various Monticello Stockpile Ores March 2, 1953
MetadataShow full item record
Six samples of Monticello Stockpiles numbered 6, 16, 19, 20, 21, and 22 were leached with varying amounts of sulfuric acid at 50 percent solids and room temperature for four hours. Uranium extractions from 85-98 percent were obtained with 100-400 pounds of acid per ton. In general, increased leaching time, use of Nac103, finer grinding, had very little effect on uranium of Stockpile 6, the ores settled well when 0.5 pound of carboxy-methyl cellulose was used.
