This report provides a history of the discovery of uranium and the development of the uranium industry near Grants, New Mexico. The historical material was compiled using the files of the AEC’s Grants Field Office. INTRODUCTION : The uranium industry in Grants, New Mexico started after 1950 when a local man found uranium minerals in a limestone outcrop near Bluewater, New Mexico.
