    Abstract
    Three miners in mine rescue gear and masks move timbers underground at the Sherwood Mine during mine rescue practice maneuvers. The Sherwood Mine was an underground mine near Iron River, Michigan in the Menominee Range. The Mine was open from 1931-1975. It was the last working underground iron mine in Iron County, and was operated by Inland Steel Company.
