Abstract
This thesis consists of a five stories, four of which are part of the novel-in-stories Getting Well. The linked stories revolve around a single character. They deal with addiction and love and loneliness and the search for salvation in any form. The fifth story, "A Night in Ten Frames," is not part of the novel-in-stories, yet echoes certain thematic elements, such as alcoholism, infidelity, and futile attempts at external solutions for internal problems.
