This ethnographic study examines the complexity of reporting the news in a tumultuous border region. Using observation and in-depth interviews, it reveals how reporters and editors at the El Paso Times define their roles and responsibilities as they cover both the violence and the daily life on both sides of the United States/Mexico border.
