Abstract
The stories collected here have been selected from those completed during my time in the MFA program at Colorado State University. In both assembling these works and ordering them, I tried to highlight moments of growth, experimentation, and range in voice. While their concerns and themes vary, each of these stories harbor the same objective: to look beyond the protective falsehoods we as people and characters present in our daily lives; to speculate as to what might be found when those superficialities are lifted, in times when the only answer we can come to that seems remotely honest is "I don't know." In this, these stories both succeed and fail, for they are, essentially, my speculations.
