Handwritten diary by Amelia Buss and derivative materials. Buss's diary covers 1866 to 1867 and includes a detailed account of her family's travels from Boonville, New York, to Fort Collins, Colorado, and their first year in Fort Collins. Materials deriving from Buss's diary include transcripts made by her family in the 1960s, a 1976 paper presentation to the Modern Language Association by Susan H. Armitage entitled "'Aunt Amelia's Diary': The Record of a Reluctant Pioneer," and a collection of excerpts from Buss's diary created by the Timnath Columbine Historical Society in the 1990s.
