Mimulus gemmiparus W. A. Weber, a Colorado endemic, is a rare species that is at risk of becoming endangered. Reproduction in M. gemmiparus is solely by vegetative propagules (bulbils), which function analogously to seeds; sexual reproduction has not been observed in the wild.
